We all have days, weeks, months or even years when we feel thrown off of our alignment, for one reason or another. The good news is, you are always on your path and right now is the best moment that you have to begin taking steps toward living a life in a greater state of joy.

Here is an exercise – a meditation – that was handed down to me from one of my beautiful teachers on Maui. This can be done at any time, in any place, as is a quick and powerful way to draw yourself back into balance.

Ground yourself. 

Feel your feet anchored into the earth. Feel yourself in your physical body. Feel energy moving down your legs, through your feet, and into the floor beneath you.


Expand your energy. Envision all of your energy contained within your body – bright, white and glowing. See it move out of you, surrounding you like a bubble – then continue to expand, growing larger and larger. This anchors you IN your own energy and will help you to hold strong in your space.


Flush out all the gunk!! ASK that anything that does not feel good to you to be released. You might identify it as a particular emotion – fear, pain, struggle – or keep the request general. Imagine it being flushed out of you.


Fill yourself back up! When we release, it is important to replace it with something positive. Fill yourself up with what you want most. I ask for Love, Freedom, Ease and Clarity.

Finally, throughout the day, practice awareness.

Simply noticing when something does not feel right to you is the first step in releasing it. We do not always have to understand why something does not feel good and with the willingness to move past it, we can move through our lives with a greater sense of care and ease.
